Challenge and Opportunity: China's Environment Industry in the 11th Five-Year Plan Period
2006 Sino-Dutch Annual Forum on Sustainable Development was held in Beijing Diaoyutai State Hotel.
Representatives are from the Ministry of Commerce, the Royal Netherlands Embassy, the State Information Center, the World Bank, UNIDO, foreign embassies officers, universities, research institutes and enterprises.
The 3 sub-venues were located in Gansu, Shannxi and Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, where over 460 participants simultaneously attended the Forum with access to Live Video on Internet.

A Seminar of "Global Economy and Competition by 2050"
The economic perspectives of "E7 and G7 by 2050" have been revealed in the Seminar of "Global Economy and Competition by 2050", held by CEInet Data Co., Ltd. in May 16 2006.
Dr. John Hawksworth from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) announced their new forecasts. The Emerging Seven economies, or E7 as the new leading forces, will be will be around 25 percent larger than the current G7 when measured in US dollar terms. China could be biggest global economy by 2050 if calculated in Purchasing Power Parities (PPP).
The officials from the National Development and Reform Commission (NDRC), Ministry of Finance, Ministry of Commerce, People's Bank of China (Central Bank), and other research institutes including the Development Research Center of the State Council, gave their attendances in the seminar. |

There are nearly 100 representatives from Beijing and the economic rim along Huaihe River who participated in the Conference, including governmental officials, leaders responsible for informatization, researchers and academic institutes, IT companies. |
