Agriculture:

Shaanxi is one of ChinaˇŻs top agricultural areas. Based on production of grains, it highlights the balanced development of agriculture, forestry and animal husbandry and other sectors. The province owns 3.36 million ha of cultivated land and 3.53 million ha of grassland. Rice is one of its major grains, with a planted area of 80% of its total area. The other major grains include wheat, corn and sweet potato, etc.

 
Industry: With strong industrial foundation, Shaanxi takes textile industry as its pillar sector and foreign exchange maker. Based on cotton textiles and integrated with wool, linen, chemical fiber, knitting, printing and dyeing and weaving machines, Shaanxi has become an important textile base of China.
